BUG
- Please ask the consumer make sure that they have a joystick plugged in and that it is working properly. One of the players should play on the keyboard and the other player should play with the gamepad/joystick. They can check that the controller is working properly in the other Metal Slug games in the collection – as Metal Slug 1-5 use different code for the controls.
- Regarding the game crashing – this should not be happening. Have them make sure that they have the latest DirectX compatible drivers for their video card. It is also important to have enough extra hard drive space – although I do not expect this is the problem.
- It is very important to make sure that the user saves their gave after rescuing prisoners and that they load the game when they want to continue Metal Slug 6. If the user does not load the game, the previous data will be lost. It is important to note that the user must be playing the game from a normal installation (and not directly from the DVD without installing the game) if the user wants to be able to use the Save/Load functionality.
I hope some of this info from Scott is also helpful FYR:
1) We were able to successfully play a two player game of Metal Slug having one player using the Xbox 360 controller and another player with the keyboard. The user may be getting confused by the menu – so here are the steps to set it up properly:
a. Launch Metal Slug 6
b. Before starting play, bring up the Pause Menu
c. To setup the controls with the X360 controller – press the A Button when the “Controls” option is highlighted.
d. If you want player 2 to use the Xbox 360 controller – highlight where it says “Player 1” and hit left or right on the Xbox 360 controller – this will toggle it between Player 1 and Player 2. Then press Escape on the keyboard to save the changed controls.
e. Then from the Pause Menu, highlight Controls again and press the Return key on the keyboard. You should see that it still says Player 1 – because it is now configuring the controls for Player 1 using the keyboard.
Note: It is important that you select the option on the Pause Menu with the controller you want to adjust. This might have been the part that was confusing. It is also important that you make sure that you are setting it for the player you want to use that control.
